The Christchurch Quake: How NBA Members Can Help

What are we doing?
The Association has decided to run an in-store appeal to encourage people to help out in the easiest way possible.

What are you being asked to do?
Over the next few days our Retail Members will be visited by someone from the Association inviting them to place a donation box on their counter. The donation box will feature a prominent red sticker which reads “Gold Coin for Christchurch” and is designed to encourage people to make a $1 or $2 donation to assist the recovery in Canterbury.

When is the Appeal?
The boxes will be emptied toward the end of each week, and will be left in-store for 2 or 3 weeks depending on response and need.

How will people know about the appeal?
We will be mentioning the Appeal on the Paul Holmes radio show, this Saturday and using our pre-booked radio time on Media Works stations to let people know about it. We’re also sending this notice out to media organisations and asking them to let people know they can donate through our stores.

What if I’m not a Retailer?
If you’re one of our Commercial / Office based members and would like to take part – you can pick up a box from our office at 1 Balm Street from Friday morning onward.

Other information
Participation is, of course, voluntary, but we would like to encourage you to take one of these boxes, when offered – and we’re also asking you to encourage your staff to ask each customer if they would like to assist the recovery by making a donation.
