Applications for Community Funding Now Open

Applications for Community Funding Now Open

Is your group looking for funding for an event or activity that will benefit the people of Lower Hutt?

The city’s community boards and community committees are accepting applications to the Community Engagement Fund from organisations based in Lower Hutt.

Projects and events are eligible to apply for funding if they support community development, or community events that strengthen their local community.

Mayor Ray Wallace says the fund is a great way to assist groups who make a valuable contribution to the wellbeing of the city.

“Over the past year, funding has helped a range of groups, from the Maungaraki Community Association and Naenae Community Patrol, to the Wainuiomata Indian Association and Muritai School.”

Application forms are available from community board/community committee members, local libraries and Council’s building on 30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt. Forms are also available from the Customer Call Centre, phone 570 6666 and on our website: www.huttcity.govt.nz

The close off date for applications is 25 March at 5pm. Please note late applications will not be accepted. Applicants will be advised if their application is successful by 27 May.
