Bike the Trail - Mayoral Challenge
Bike the Trail - Mayoral Challenge
It’s time to pump up the tyres, grease the chain and get out and about on two wheels and enjoy the Hutt River this Sunday 6 March.
With more than 1000 people already registered, cyclists can bike one of two routes: 25km from Upper Hutt or a 12km ride from Stokes Valley, both ending in Petone.
The ride starts at 9am and free return transport is available for cyclists and their bikes back to their starting points from 11am to 1pm
Mayor Ray Wallace is encouraging everyone to hop on their bike and give the scenic ride a go.
“We have some great cycling tracks in the Hutt Valley and Bike the Trail is one for the whole family to enjoy.
“I’m looking forward to it and I’m hoping for a great turn out,” he says.
Because we love cycling so much in the Hutt this event also doubles as Lower Hutt’s entry to the annual Mayoral Challenge which we won last year.
The ride will be followed by a BBQ at Hikoikoi Reserve with live music, giveaways and fun for the whole family. Be into win some great spot prizes including a brand new Avanti Bike
Bike the Trail is organised by Hutt City and Upper Hutt City Councils and supported by Greater Wellington Regional Council and the Lion Foundation.
