Cricket Wellington - Fujitsu’s $100,000 offer

Wednesday 9 March 2011

Fujitsu’s $100,000 offer

Fujitsu will donate $100,000 to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal if Prime Minister John Key can hit a boundary off Shane Warne at Sunday’s Fill the Basin Twenty20 match.

“I have seen the Prime Minister bat and I was pretty impressed If he is on form then Fujitsu will be making a sizeable donation,” Stephen Fleming said.

“Shane has been talking about the match on Twitter and he seems excited about the prospect of taking the Prime Minister’s wicket, so this will be a really competitive event.

“It’s great to see companies like Fujitsu supporting this match. We have had a tremendous response from the commercial sector which will help us to raise funds for Canterbury.”

Trade Me Auctions

The Trade Me Auctions for the 12th man position on each team and the auction for an over with Shane Warne closed today.

The Wellington Legends XI position was sold to a lucky bidder for $5,010

The Canterbury Invitation XI bid was sold to a lucky bidder for $ 5,060

The chance to face Shane Warne in an over was sold to a lucky bidder for $2,550

“The winners of these auctions will have an experience of a lifetime. We have a whole package around these prizes and it is great to see bidders getting in behind the match and Canterbury,” Stephen said.
