East Coast Road to Recovery Auction

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10-03-11

East Coast Road to Recovery Auction

Last week over $4300 was raised at The National Bank Waikato/Bay of
Plenty Regional Final for the Earthquake Recovery Fund. This weekend the
call has been put out to raise even more.

New Zealand Young Farmer Members have been out on the streets of
Christchurch with the "Farmy Army"; they've been working hard to
fundraise within their clubs and NZYF is committed to continuing to help
the city recover from the devastating February 22nd Earthquake.

The National Bank Young Farmer Contest East Coast Regional Final takes
place on Saturday (March 12) at the Waipukurau A&P Showgrounds, with the
Evening Show taking place at the Civic Theatre. To help raise money for
the Earthquake Recovery Fund the usual audience participation round is
to be replaced by the Road to Recovery Auction.

The National Bank Young Farmer Contest has the support of its sponsors
in this fundraising mission. Honda has donated a XR125 Duster: the
ultimate 2-wheel farm bike. Echo has given a GT-22GES trimmer and
there's 20L of Glyphosate from Ravensdown to auction off as well. The
National Bank is pitching in too; they've donated an iPod Nano that will
also go to the highest bidder.

The Road to Recovery Auction will give audience members the chance to
bid on the above items with all funds raised to go to the Earthquake
Recovery Fund. For anyone else that wants to contribute, there'll be
collection buckets during the Practical Day and the Evening Show as
well.

The auction takes place at the Evening Show at the Civic Theatre
Waipukurau. The show commences at 7pm; tickets are $25 available from The National Bank or on the day.
