Telecom and Trackside support Fill the Basin

Telecom and Trackside are delighted to support the Fill the Basin Twenty20 charity cricket match, raising funds for the Christchurch earthquake appeal.

Telecom is making a donation of $50,000 in support of the event and to contribute to the Prime Minister’s Christchurch fund, in addition to their efforts assisting the people of Christchurch.

Telecom Director of Corporate Relations, Tina Symmans says, “We are very proud to be involved in such a significant fundraising event. Telecom people are doing all they can to support the people in the Canterbury region, both on the ground and from our offices around the country, so this is a great opportunity to further our support while watching some excellent cricket!.”

The TAB has also announced they will be donating $1000 for each six hit during the match.

New Zealanders around the world will be able to see Sunday’s match live on Yahoo!Xtra. Yahoo!Xtra will carry Trackside’s live coverage of the match, starting with the match build up at 3.30pm. To tune in, you’ll need to access the Trackside channel through your SKY or Freeview or Yahoo!Xtra for a live stream through your PC.

Stephen Fleming says, “I am delighted with the way in which these two organisations are supporting this event and helping Cantabrians. Thanks to their efforts and generous donations, cricket fans throughout New Zealand and the world will be able to watch the match live and feel a part of the atmosphere.”

“Thanks to Trackside the match will also be carried live on CTV and that is a very poignant reminder of what this event is all about,” Fleming says.
