Movie Tickets Grab a National Record

3 March 2011

Movie Tickets Grab a National Record

Yesterday’s GrabOne offer of $9 movie tickets has grabbed the title of best selling single deal since the daily deal phenomenon began.

21,465 movie tickets sold across Auckland during the 24 hour time period which offered 45% off a standard adult movie admission.

The deal was the second time Grabbies had seen a movie ticket offer; GrabOne launched on 7th July 2010 with $4 cinema tickets and the deal remains one of GrabOne’s fastest selling offers with two tickets sold every second.

“It’s easy to sell enormous quantities of a $1 deal. The risk is low and the price is right,” says GrabOne Founder Shane Bradley. “Yesterday’s $9 price point for a movie ticket was still incredibly sharp but just goes to show it’s not just about the price, it’s about what’s on offer too.”

GrabOne has sold more than 750,000 vouchers throughout New Zealand since it launched in July last year.
