First Stop Bank for Latest Lotto Winner!

Media Release 28 March 2011

First Stop Bank for Latest Lotto Winner!

One lucky Lower Hutt mother, now believes in divine intervention, after she prayed for help for her mortgage repayments and ended up receiving a Lotto windfall of $250,000.

After claiming her prize today, the woman’s first stop was to visit her bank, to make arrangements to pay off her mortgage.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, is not a regular Lotto player and purchased her ticket on a spur of the moment at Pak N’ Save Petone.

“I just thought to myself, I should buy a Lotto ticket, so I just bought a basic $6 Lucky Dip”, she laughs.

“I’ve been so worried lately about my mortgage payments, as times have been a bit tough for our family, so this is such a blessing,” says the lucky winner.

“The amount I received matches the amount I have left on my mortgage.

“When I walked into an outlet to get my ticket checked, I had no idea that the store I had purchased the ticket from had sold a winning ticket.

“Then the operator told me I had won a major prize, I could not stop shaking. I felt faint and just had to close my eyes,” laughs the winner.

“I’ve never won anything before. This is so amazing to me,” she says.

“My dream has always to be able to own my own home and this win makes my dream come true for me,” says the winner.

The winning ticket was one of four to share Lotto First Division on the weekend. Lotto Powerball First Division was not struck and has jackpotted to a record-equalling $28 million for this week’s draw.
