Police Association Welcomes New Vice-President
A special conference of the Police Association in Wellington today elected Mr Luke Shadbolt as its new Vice-President. Mr Shadbolt was elected to fill a vacancy in one of the two Vice-President positions left by Mr Chris Cahill, who resigned his position to pursue a career opportunity overseas.
“We welcome the election today of Mr Shadbolt as Vice-President of the NZ Police Association,” Police Association President Greg O'Connor said.
“Mr Shadbolt is a very experienced police officer, having served for 24 years in New Zealand Police in metropolitan, provincial and rural roles. He has extensive experience both in General Duties response policing, and as a CIB Detective and Detective Sergeant. He is currently a Senior Sergeant based in Hawke’s Bay.
“Mr Shadbolt has also been an active Association member for most of his Police career, including most recently for the past four years as Region 4 Director. His contribution is reflected in the confidence delegates have shown in electing him to the Vice-President role,” Mr O’Connor said.
“Mr Shadbolt brings to his new role a wealth of experience and understanding across a broad range of police duties. I look forward to working with him to provide the very best representation for Police Association members, and advocacy for policing and law and order issues affecting not only police officers, but also the public at large.”
