DB Strikes Gold (Again) at Monde Selection in Belgium
The DB Export family has struck Gold for the second year in a row at the annual Monde Selection Awards in Belgium this week.
Export 33, Export Dry and Export Gold each won Gold with Export 33 and Export Dry winning Gold for the second year running.
Monteith’s Single Source, released by Monteith’s just last year, also struck Gold for the wider DB group along with Tui Blond. DB brewer, Doug Banks is delighted with the results which he says confirms DB brands are of 'Gold' standard in terms of product quality.
“All the beers entered from around the world are fully analysed and taste tested alongside each other. Any quality faults, in taste clarity foam for example, would mean you fail to get any rating so it goes to show that our entire Export family, plus Monteith’s Single Source and Tui Blond, succeeded on all fronts. Entering beer awards internationally is used as a good guide on how your beer quality compares on a worldwide basis and ours certainly rate very highly.”
The latest success is great news for Export 33 which has consecutively won the ‘Best Reduced Alcohol, Reduced Carbohydrate and Gluten-free Styles Trophy’ at the 2009 and 2010 BrewNZ Awards. Tui Blond has also had its share of major success winning the ‘Best New Zealand Lager and Premium Lager Style’ at last year’s Brew NZ Awards after entering the market in 2009.
Founded in 1961, Monde Selection tests more than 2200 products from 80 countries each year and grants them a bronze, silver, gold or grand gold quality award. For more information visit http://www.monde- selection.com/en/
