LPC Assessing Damage Following Aftershock

Lyttelton Port wishes to advise a 5.3 magnitude aftershock, 10 km north-east of Diamond Harbour hit at 5:49 pm yesterday.

Our team of engineers are currently assessing the port for damage and electrical and civil maintenance staff are continuing this morning to check plant for any damage - as is procedure following each major aftershock.

Lyttelton Container Terminal & Coal stevedoring operations have been placed on standby from 0700 this morning until the engineering assessments have been completed.

We will continue to advise as more information becomes available.
