Mayor looking forward to Council review discussions

Mayor Ray Wallace is looking forward to discussing the review of Hutt City Council’s operations and activities with his Council colleagues.

The review will be tabled at an extraordinary Council meeting this Thursday.
At the meeting Mayor Wallace will recommend a workshop is scheduled to give Councillors an opportunity to explore the review in detail before any final decisions are made.

“During my election campaign I made a pledge to Hutt City ratepayers that I would review council’s operations and activities.

“The Corporate Review Subcommittee formed to carry out this review has done a good job and I am now keen to discuss their recommendations with Council.
“The aim of the review is to explore opportunities to increase investment and development in our city by making sure we’re using our resources effectively and in the best interest of our communities,” he says.

A copy of the review document is available on Council’s website www.huttcity.govt.nz.
