Flying the ropes at Auckland Airport

Media Release | 09th May 2011

Flying the ropes at Auckland Airport

Butterfly Creek is out to give people a thrill by offering two new high ropes courses set to open at the end of May.

Situated in the ever-growing Auckland Airport Business District, Butterfly Creek already offers a great range of exciting attractions to customers; but none that will get the adrenalin pumping quite like Rocket Ropes.

As the most comprehensive high ropes attraction in Australasia, Rocket Ropes will offer a series of challenging adventures including two activity towers, two high ropes courses, climbing walls and flying foxes. Turbo-charging the adrenaline rush will be New Zealand's only Powerfan vertical drop and a huge giant swing.

John Dowsett, GM of Butterfly Creek, says "Our goal here is to offer something for everyone. In developing Rocket Ropes we have built two separate courses suitable for all ages. Rocket Ropes will appeal to a wide range of customers whether they are on a school trip, a corporate team building exercise or for a family fun day out."

Located on Tom Pearce Drive and in the heart of the Auckland Airport Business District, Butterfly Creek draws large numbers of visitors every week.

Sean Thompson, Business Development Manager Property at Auckland Airport, says "We are always looking for exciting ways to add to the recreational and corporate activities on hand within the Airport District."

"We want travellers and visitors to Auckland Airport to have a wide range of activities available out here to challenge and entertain them."

"The new Rocket Ropes course will be a great addition to what we already have on offer and will improve the activity value to the Airport Business District."
