As a Councillor on the Manukau City Council, I got much satisfaction knowing that I was an effective advocate for our community.
Can any of the other candidates running in this election make the claim that they have been as successful as I have been?
I successfully led initiatives for:
• Limited speed zones around our schools to make our children safer.
• Greater police presence that resulted in 300 extra sworn police officers on our streets.
• Increased the number of volunteers for Community Safety Groups.
• Increased the number of Neighbourhood Support Groups across Manukau.
• Reduced graffiti by 70% across Manukau.
• Secured funding for our sporting facilities so that our young people have access to improved amenities.
I was an Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games medallist and World Record Holder. I have coached Olympic medallists and World Record Holders.
My colleagues describe me as a tireless worker, extremely effective, open and honest and someone who consistently acts in the best interests of our community.
I will work hard on your behalf for:
• Keeping rates affordable
• Investment in vital infrastructure and community facilities
• Protecting your private property rights
• Keeping a focus on core council services
• Protecting and enhancing our unique environment
• Equal treatment of all our people regardless of race
You will need to post your voting papers no later than Wednesday, May 25 or you can drop them into your local library between 9am and 12 noon on Friday 27 May.
Thank you for your support.
