Free Community Open Day at Queenstown Events Centre Sunday
Free Community Open Day at Queenstown Events Centre this Sunday
The Queenstown Events Centre is throwing it doors open to the public this Sunday 5 June during their free Community Open Day from 10am to 4pm.
Fun and games for the whole family are to be held in the stadium from 10-12pm including hula hooping, ball sports and Gruffalo-themed arts & crafts. A kids pool party will be held from 1-3pm featuring a brand new pool inflatable, a dunking machine and free hydroslide rides for all.
Adults can also visit the pool and the gym, or they might like to try one of Alpine Health & Fitness’ many group fitness classes such as Body Pump, Zumba, RPM or Yoga, with extra classes being put on for the day. Plus there’ll be a sausage sizzle fund-raiser around lunch time and appearances from Paddles the Polar Bear, Lakes Leisure’s mascot, throughout the day which is always a huge hit with the little ones.
Entry is a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Canterbury Appeal, and visitors are invited to enter the draw to win one of five annual swim passes. Kids are encouraged to enter The Gruffalo colouring competition – six lucky winners will get to ride alongside Paddles on Lake Leisure’s “Alpine Iceberg” float in the Queenstown Winter Festival Street Parade.
