Auckland Transport Supports Cycle Event
Auckland Transport is a proud sponsor and supporter of the TelstraClear Challenge, an historic cycling event to be held in December.
The event, which was announced this morning, will be the first time that cyclists have been allowed to cross Auckland Harbour Bridge en-masse. As well as the high profile race, an 8km and 2km family ride will be held along the Northern Bus-way (near Smales Farm).
This element of the day is being supported by Auckland Transport and Cycle Action Auckland. The aim is to provide a fun and safe environment for all ages to enjoy cycling. The Community Bike Festival will also include interactive demonstrations and road safety activities. Pictured getting into the spirit of things at today's launch, held at the Northern Busway, are: TelstraClear employee Peter Buntain, champion Ironman competitor Cameron Brown, Mayor Len Brown, and Takapuna Grammar Student Robbie Laking.
