New Managerial Appointments for Ymca South and Mid Canterbury
YMCA South and Mid Canterbury today announced the attached restructure and subsequent managerial appointments. The restructure involves the following:
1. A new reverse organisational structure, where our learners, participants and communities are at the top of the structure and our Board and Management group are at the bottom. This “new way” of looking at our structure simply goes to illustrate that the people we aim to serve and work alongside are and will always be our key focus.
2. As a consequence of this restructure, the position of Education Administrator, currently held by Avis Page, has been dis-established.
3. The restructure provides for three new managerial appointments within our YMCA Association, which will allow each area of our operations to receive a greater focus and be better managed. One of the managerial appointments announced today also fills the Ashburton Manager position, left vacant by the death of Tiffany Feron.
4. Lastly, the new structure allows for further expansion, as necessary and also changes in reporting lines for some staff.
The above said, I am pleased to announce the following managerial appointments:
Avis Page to the position of Ashburton Manager;
Gerry Pienaar to the position of Youth, Sport and Recreation Manager; and
Sandra McHaffie to the newly created position of Education Manager (Timaru and Ashburton)
Please join with me in congratulating Avis, Gerry and Sandra. These appointments signal a new chapter in the life of YMCA South and Mid Canterbury and will ensure as we continue to grow, the workload in managing such a diverse and large workload is not solely held by the General Manager. We look forward to putting in place this new operating structure over the coming 4 to 8 weeks.
