Korero Maori for Maori Language Week

HYUNDAI CODE is encouraging te reo with its Maori Language Week edition this week – guest starring Te Wiki o Te Reo ambassador and former Hurricane Tamati Ellison.

Back from playing rugby in Japan, Ellison shares the HYUNDAI CODE couch this week with two other fluent Maori language speakers, Tall Fern Aroha Jennings and the first Maori to captain the Silver Ferns, June Mariu.

Broadcasting on New Zealand’s only indigenous television network, HYUNDAI CODE presenters Awen Guttenbiel and Wairangi Koopu give their take on Maori Language Week. They send Ellison out on the street to see what people think of Quade Cooper playing for the Reds and who will win the Super 15 final this weekend between the Reds and the Crusaders.

Speaking of Super 15, the competition might have ended for the Auckland Blues after last weekend’s loss, but coach Pat Lam is on the couch this week reflecting on this year’s season.

Keeping with the Maori Language Week theme, the Mahurangi College kapa haka are in to perform live on set.

There’s two weeks left to enter our Grab-a-seat competition for a trip to Las Vegas and HYUNDAI CODE also has a Universal Food Oven up for grabs this week worth $900.

No reira kia kaha ki te tautoko i te reo Maori me HYUNDAI CODE.
