Governor-General leaves hospital

14 July 2011

The Governor-General, Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, was discharged from Auckland Hospital this afternoon (Thursday 14 July 2011).

Sir Anand was admitted to hospital on Monday morning with a chest infection. He will be resting at Government House before resuming his community engagements next week.

While several engagements to be held in Dunedin and Christchurch this week were cancelled, Sir Anand's hospitalisation did not affect the performance of his constitutional duties.
