FRESHLINES - The FINAL weekend
What a Season!
With just days left of our 2011
winter remaining, it's a little crazy to take a break from
the springy goodness on the chair and look across at the now
tussocky wonderland of Sundance. Last time it looked like
this was around the 7th of July, then just days later it got
lashed with the most delicious bottomless wintery pow that
Mother Nature could shake out of that season saving front! I
think it's fair to say that for both the long time TC
campaigner and the new to town seasonair-the 2011 Opening
Day was historic!
It also set us up with a great base for the rest of the season, saving us between the small top up's we received and holding tight during the winds that lashed all the ski areas in August. The Home Basin proved it's worth this season, not only with great coverage allowing all the exciting terrain to be explored but also a sheltered spot to still enjoy the snow in those windy periods. Thanks to our Treble Cone pioneers for choosing so wisely!
So we just want to say a big THANKS to all those familiar faces, new visitors and staff for choosing Treble Cone, showing patience and understanding when needed, offering a smiling face and helping hand to those who were new and overall injecting a passion for the snow that seems to be unique and treasured at our mountain.
Closing
Day
And....it's here! Closing Day at TC on Sunday
October 2nd. Never attended this awesome festive day? Come
one and all! Dress ups are key! They can be as slick or as
old as you like, general silly garb is the name of the day.
Check out this great intro to Closing Day from local skier
Fraser McDougall. We have The Slush Cup which will kick off
at noon to entertain with rescue kindly provided by Scuba
Tim from Rentals. Be prepared - bring a towel. The plaza
and deck will be pumping from 11-4pm with the help of the
Wanaka Beats DJ's and you can enjoy a bucket of 4x SOL for
just $20 in the sunshine (hopefully with some fluro zinc on
your nose!)
The bar will close at 5pm and we ask that all customers respect the fact that the plaza, deck and cafe is a licensed area. So please no BYO in these areas.
A reminder to Season Pass holders that on Closing Day you can again bring a friend up with you and they only pay half price. You must accompany them to ticketing please.
TC Charity day

few days natural smoothing out and potentially a natural top
up this day has often offered a great last blast in the Home
basin. This years beneficiaries are the Wanaka Rowing Club
and Aspiring Search Dogs.
