Go on a New Zooland adventure these school holidays

Auckland Zoo’s newest precinct Te Wao Nui is now open, and it’s the perfect place for kids to explore these October school holidays from Saturday, 8 October to Monday, 24 October.

There is a lot to discover in each of Te Wao Nui’s six habitats, representing a journey through New Zealand. Kids will be given an activity book to collect facts and record their thoughts on their journey to becoming a New Zooland Adventurer.

There will also be a Discovery Centre, and some interesting characters to meet along the way, so the kids should keep an eye out in The Coast, The Night and The High Country.

“It’s really exciting to be able to share the Zoo’s love for New Zealand’s extraordinary animals and plants – many that can only be found here – with our visitors.

“We hope that by getting kids excited about them now, they will play a role in protecting our New Zealand wildlife in the future,” says Auckland Zoo curator, Ian Fraser.

Normal zoo admission prices apply. Visit www.aucklandzoo.co.nz or phone 09 360 3805 for more information.

Competition: Children participating in the October school holiday experience at Auckland Zoo can enter a draw on-site to win:
• a family trip to Tiritiri Matangi Island, including ferry tickets from downtown Auckland, or
• one of three Friends of the Zoo family memberships for 12 months, or
• one of five New Zealand Menagerie board games.
