Perfect conditions for Take A Kid Fishing event
This years’ Take A Kid Fishing event on Sunday was a big success with one of the best catch rates the organisers had experienced. This was most likely due to a combination of perfect conditions at the Groynes (overcast with no wind) and more fish than ever having been released into the lakes This year Lady Isaac had donated 1000 salmon to the event and hundreds of those were caught. In addition a few of the big ‘wildcard’ rainbow trout were caught, including one 6lb trout caught by five year old Alice Farber of Christchurch that was almost bigger than her.
