Kingston Flyer Day Return Coach Excursion
The Otago Heritage Bus Society is proud to announce that bookings are now open for the Kingston Flyer, Day Return Coach Excursion for Saturday 29 October 2011. This excursion coincides with the grand re-opening of the Kingston Flyer since its purchase earlier this year.
“For $60 per Adult and $50 per Child the Society will include the return coach transfers to and from Kingston ex Dunedin and return vintage steam train ride on board the iconic Kingston Flyer. Our coach will arrive at Kingston in time for the official speeches of the re-opening and will allow you will have enough time to indulge in lunch at The Flyer Café & Bar or from many of the stalls, you may even want to pack a picnic and enjoy it on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, it will be a great day full of activities fun for the whole family” Philip Riley, Hon. Chairman and founding member of the Otago Heritage Bus Society said.
Bookings can be made online at our website or by calling our Secretary Janet on (03) 454 5568. Funds raised from this excursion will go towards the restoration of Leyland Leopard 194 and any future restoration projects that the Society obtains.
The Otago Heritage Bus Society was set up in late 2010 as Dunedin’s only dedicated community group for preservation of old relics of Dunedin’s unique road passenger transport. We are here to foster an intelligent interest in road passenger transport, be it archiving or restoration projects.
The young community based group is still on the look out for a short-term or a permanent undercover home for its collection, so future generations are able to benefit from our efforts.
New members and volunteers from all walks of life are welcome to join and can obtain further details from our website www.otagoheritagebus.co.nz
