Buses replace trains this weekend

Buses replace trains this weekend

Auckland's rail network will be closed this weekend to allow Auckland Transport and KiwiRail to carry out major works associated with the ongoing upgrade and electrification of the rail network.

There are times when train services need to be cancelled, for example construction work on the tracks at Ellerslie train station can only be done when trains are not running.

Weekends, public holidays and evenings are preferred as there are usually fewer people travelling and less disruption to peak-hour commuter services.

Auckland Transport understands replacing buses with trains causes some disruption and work hard to minimise the impacts wherever possible while balancing project safety and efficiency.

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November FULL NETWORK CLOSURE: Buses replace all Auckland trains

For full details go to www.maxx.co.nz. Details will also be available at stations.

For more details on the upgrade of the rail network visit www.kiwirail.co.nz.
