Avoid the Xmas crush use the bus

As we head into the Christmas season, Auckland Transport encourages shoppers to leave the car at home and travel by public transport instead for a hassle free shopping experience.

During the Christmas season, shopper demand on parking at some of Auckland's largest shopping malls can lead to driver frustration and traffic congestion. For people looking to avoid the Christmas traffic rush and time spent looking for a parking space public transport is a ready travel option for them. Many malls and shopping centres have frequent bus services with stops near the entrance make hopping on a bus another easy option. By train you can shop in Downtown Auckland, Newmarket, Sylvia Park and Dressmart in Onehunga.

To help plan their travel shoppers can go online to www.maxx.co.nz/christmas for helpful timetable information. A journey planner will list the nearest shopping centre and maps with relevant public transport information and key bus stops which can be downloaded and printed off.

Shop at any Westfield mall in Auckland, Sylvia Park, Westgate, Botany, Lynn Mall, Dressmart or at the Atrium Elliot for the chance to be in to win weekly shopping vouchers when they sign up for news alerts. http://www.maxx.co.nz/info/how-to-travel/christmas/christmas-journey-planner.aspx
