Mission’s annual Christmas Street Appeal
This Friday is The Mission’s annual Christmas
Street Appeal!
The Wellington City Mission has a history of helping the people of Wellington since 1904, and these days we offer a range of programmes that encourage participants to confront and address their problems, and that help them move on to a quality life:
Mission for
Families – for families at turning point in their
lives
Mission for Youth – Alternative Education
for at-risk youth
Mission for Independence – for
the unemployed or financially disadvantaged
Mission
for Seniors – for the older person with health,
disability or social isolation issues
Through our annual Christmas Street Appeal, The Mission hopes to raise lots of money for our Mission for Families programme, to support families who would otherwise go without this Christmas. Money from this Appeal will be spent on advocacy, social worker support, household resources, food parcels and budgeting advice for families wanting to get ahead and be self-reliant. Please visit http://www.wellingtoncitymission.org.nz/public/mission-for-families/ for further information about our Mission for Families programme.
If everyone in this city gave just a dollar this Friday, we’d be on track to help families we work with get through a traditionally stressful time … and through the other side into a bright and positive New Year.
Please look out for Official Wellington City Mission volunteers in red t-shirts throughout the Central Wellington area this Friday.
