Auckland: Improvements to bus stop signage

14th December 2011

Improvements to bus stop signage

Bus passengers travelling to and from the city will have noticed major improvements to the signage of their bus stops over the past month following a complete makeover.

Signage, maps and bus stop numbers have all been improved to help customers easily read and understand bus stop information when travelling around the city.

Pierre Houzet, public transport information manager, says “these improvements are the result of around six months of planning, redesigning and installing the new signage. Bus stop numbers are now more prominent and extra signage has been added to bus stops with route numbers so passengers can easily see which stop they need at a glance”.

“We’ve also introduced braille signs for visually impaired passengers and bus stops have improved and simplified maps which are much easier to follow” says Mr Houzet.
