Operatic Society’s Costume Sale
MEDIA RELEASE
Operatic Society’s Costume
Sale
27 January 2012
For Immediate Release
Hamilton Operatic Society is holding a once in a century costume sale next month.
With over a hundred
and fifteen years in operation, the society has collected
tens of thousands of costumes. The majority of costumes are
hired out from their premises located behind Clarence Street
Theatre in Hamilton.
However, in order to make room
for new costumes, the society is reluctantly parting with
many dearly loved treasures from years and shows gone by.
The clear out has been a poignant task, but with storage
space at a premium, the wardrobe department knew that this
day would have to come.
Items available for sale include sets of costumes (from musicals such as Music Man, Oklahoma and Hello Dolly), retro clothes, shoes, boots, stockings (in original packets), fur and faux fur coats and stoles all in both adults and kids sizes. No single item will be more than $20. All stock must go.
The sale
will be held at 18 Storey Avenue, Forest Lake, Hamilton from
7am on Saturday 11 February 2012.
Furthermore, the
society’s costume hire business is looking for a part-time
employee. The applicant must be able to sew competently and
possess exemplary customer service skills. Knowledge of
costuming and musical theatre is preferred. Resumes may be
sent to Hamilton Operatic Society, PO Box 463, Hamilton or
alternatively emailed to
info@hamiltonoperatic.co.nz.
