CELEBRATE THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER IN STRATFORD

Stratford will be swinging to the sounds of summer, with the annual “Summer Nights” concert scheduled for Friday 17 February at King Edward Park, Stratford.

Summer Nights is a free community event, organised by the Stratford District Council to encourage people to use and enjoy the districts parks.
“The night is aimed at promoting our beautiful parks and gardens and celebrating Summer in Stratford. We are inviting families to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy an evening listening to local artists” says Stratford District Council Community Development Manager Kate Whareaitu.
Well known Wellington Irish band, Shenanigans is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a tap in your toes, playing from 7.00 – 9.15 pm with local artists opening the show from 6.30 pm.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase on the night from various stalls including Stratford Lions Club members with a barbeque and the Stratford District Youth Council providing drinks for sale.

Entrance to the concert is through the Malone Gates on Fenton Street.

If the weather forecast is wet then the concert will be moved to the War Memorial Centre on Miranda Street.

For more information visit www.stratford.govt.nz, or phone (06) 765 6099 and talk to the Community Services Team.
