Green Bay community meeting with Mayor

Green Bay community meeting with Mayor

The Mayor is inviting Green Bay locals to an informal community meeting on Thursday 23 February.

The 6.30pm meeting at the Green Bay High School theatre is one in a series of regular ‘town hall meetings’ the Mayor holds around Auckland to connect with different communities.

“I’m looking forward to holding my first official Town Hall Meeting for 2012 in Green Bay and hearing from local residents first-hand about their concerns and hopes for their community.

“Last year I had the pleasure of opening the Performing Arts facility and I am glad to be returning to the centre, this time for an event of my own.

“Getting out into different communities around Auckland and hearing about their issues helps me stay in touch with grass-roots issues and get a clearer picture of the challenges we are facing,” says Len Brown

“I hope students from the High School and other local schools will come along, I’m always interested to hear what our young people have to say about their community.”

Individuals and community groups are welcome to attend and share their thoughts about their council and their community directly with the Mayor.

Local councillors and local board members are also invited to attend the informal meeting.

Green Bay High School is at 143 - 161 Godley Road, Green Bay. The meeting will run from 6.30pm – 8pm.
