Service of Remembrance for Christchurch

Service of Remembrance for Christchurch

Auckland’s Holy Trinity Cathedral will host A Service of Remembrance for the people of Christchurch and Canterbury this Wednesday at 12:30pm.

Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Rev’d Jo Kelly-Moore says, ‘Last year many communities in Auckland supported the people of Canterbury following the February 22nd earthquake. The same people still need our support and the service is a way to show a continued solidarity for Canterbury.’

There will be a two minute silence during the service at 12:51 to remember those who died and people will be able to light a candle to express hope for the way ahead. Mayor Len Brown will give a message on behalf of the people of Auckland.

All are welcome to attend the Service which will conclude soon after 1pm with the aim that people will be able to attend during their lunch break.
