For Immediate Release
27th April 2012
Wellington’s first ever Better Home & Living Show officially launched today 27-29th April

More than 10,000 people are expected to visit the first ever Wellington Better Home and Living show which has been launched in the capital this morning as the gates to Westpac Stadium opened revealing a plethora of exhibitors with wares on show.

It’s tipped to be New Zealand’s largest ever Eco-Show providing Wellingtonians with action packed ideas on sustainable homes, inspirational kitchens and gardens, expert tips on how to grow greener gardens, energy efficient transport options, natural interior designed products, through to savouring organic food and drinks.

The idea to put on a show like this is no mean feat and was the brainchild of Jade Promotions Co-Owner and Show Director Daniel Joll.

The show will provide an economic boost to the region with staff and security being employed locally to support the show.

“We are excited as more than 150 exhibitors are showcasing the latest environmentally friendly products required for building a better home and lifestyle. The show features dedicated sections including Better Homes, Better Gardens, Better Bodies and Better Transport. There will something for everyone young and old at this show,” he said.

Free Daily seminars are on offer on household resiliency, sustainable building, making solar easy, sustainable kitchens designed for life, and nutrition uncovered, ten things you need to know.
As well as this one lucky visitor to the show will win more than $12,500 worth of prizes at the Show. This includes heating products and a couple’s annual gym membership to support the “Better Bodies” theme.

“The nations love affair with their homes has not subsided and latest real estate institute figures showing a surging in the housing market in some parts of the capital support what we see with people wanting to renovate or build homes. We have hand- picked exhibitors who have an empathy with Wellington’s landscape in mind,” said Mr Joll.

The idea to build a sustainable future means there is something for everyone’s taste, style and budget at this show which will be fun for the whole family. Entry is only $8.00, senior citizens $5.00 today only.

Jade Promotions also congratulates the winner of Wellington’s coldest house promotion announced this morning in the lead up to today’s launch of Wellington’s Better Home & Living Show

Island Bay home owner Paula Sharpe-Ete got the surprise of her life when the Classic Hits radio team complete with HRV, Airfoam and Northern Construction representatives turned up at her house this morning to announce that she was the winner of Wellington’s coldest home promotion.

Jade Promotions partnered with HRV, Airfoam and Northern Construction in the lead up to Wellington’s Better Home and Living Show to find the coldest home in the capital and to give one lucky family this winter a chance to be warm with a Heat pump, home insulation and home ventilation package, worth thousands of dollars.

Four families were shortlisted this week after HRV’s Matthew Rangiwahia used a special thermometer to record temperatures inside homes in Island Bay, Porirua and Wainuiomata.

Paula Sharpe-Ete’s house was noted to be well below World Health Organisation standards with mould, mildew, draughts coming from windows and a big build-up of condensation with virtually no heat in the house whatsoever.

Jade Promotions has more than 20 years of proven experience in successful event management and is the largest provider of Home, Garden and Lifestyle events with 10 annual shows nationwide.

Opening hours for Wellington’s Better Home & Living Show is Fri 27th & Sat 28th 10am-6pm & Sun 29th 10am – 5pm, all under one roof at Westpac Stadium
