Business Feedback Sought On Draft Rotorua
Investment Profile
ROTORUA
28.09.12: Rotorua District Council (RDC)
has developed a draft Rotorua Investment Profile to support
businesses looking to expand or diversify, and to attract
new industry and investment to the city.
It will be used by the business community and investors as an independent and robust source of economic information.
Local stakeholders, including iwi representatives, businesses and education providers have been involved in the draft development process; however the council is now inviting additional input from other organisations in the community.
RDC business marketing manager Renee Nathan said the investment profile would help increase awareness of new investment opportunities in Rotorua and support available to potential and existing investors
“The document will appeal to both national and international investors as it provides an overview of Rotorua, reasons to invest, our key economic drivers and who interested parties can contact.
“We expect businesses will also find it useful for helping attracting staff, tenants and customers.
“Grow Rotorua, Rotorua District Council and other local business entities will provide follow-on support to users of the investment profile and will help progress and implement investment and business development plans.
“The Rotorua Investment Profile will be available as an online publication and updated regularly - at least four times a year - so the content can remain relevant and figures accurate.”
Mrs Nathan says the council is inviting wider input from other Rotorua investor stakeholders and is looking for feedback by the end of October.
“It’s been a really interesting process to date, and possibly the first time we’ve consulted this widely to ensure we produce a useful tool that businesses are actually going to use.”
The final version of the Rotorua Investment Profile will be officially launched on the council website rdc.govt.nz in December.
Rotorua District Council will also be producing other online documents to complement its promotional tools, including a Rotorua Lifestyle Profile in conjunction with Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, Rotorua Forestry Business Case, and Rotorua CBD Business Case.
The draft Rotorua Investment Profile is available for viewing on the RDC website rdc.govt.nz by clicking the ‘Services’ tab, and scrolling down to Economic Projects.
