CentrePort Urges Hasty Resolution to Basin Flyover

CentrePort has voiced its support for a hasty resolution to the Basin Flyover debate.

Chief Executive Blair O'Keeffe says it’s essential that roading developments in the region progress sooner rather than later to support economic growth.
"Both Wellington’s air and sea ports have been experiencing record trade expansion. We need better road access to allow this growth to continue.

“The roads that serve Wellington’s airport, the Seaview industrial area and CentrePort all need upgrades. Those are three major economic engines of the Wellington Region, and need to be fixed promptly.”

Mr O’Keeffe says other regions have been making significant roading investments and are producing convincing arguments for more funding.

“It’s important for Wellington to lock down already committed government funding.”

CentrePort is New Zealand’s most diverse port company, with assets in transport, infrastructure and property.
