Rural fire authority declares prohibited fire season
The Palmerston North City Council would like to notify residents that a prohibited fire season has now been declared for the Palmerston North rural fire area.
The prohibition is from midnight on Tuesday 5 March 2013 until further notice.
No fires are to be lit in the Palmerston North Rural Fire area with the exception of barbecues lit in properly constructed containers and fuelled with gas.
All fire permits previously issued will be cancelled from the above date until further notice.
For all fire emergencies please phone 111 and give your name, address, telephone number and rural number if applicable.
