Funding Shortfall
Donations ranging from Shortland St walk on roles to a speaking engagement with Dame Susan Devoy poised to fill funding gap.
One hundred items have been donated to CATCH A FALLING STAR Trade Me StarJam Auction which is running from Sunday 14th to Sunday 21st April. One of a number of fundraising events created to fill an acute funding gap, the Trade Me Auction will list items with a conservative estimated total value of $30,000.
Based in the four NZ cities with StarJam branches, Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, the auction will be run locally by teams of volunteers.
StarJam founder and CEO Julie Bartlett says that the 300 StarJam families are giving their all to support the online auction.
“Our families can’t imagine what life would be like without StarJam in their children’s lives. Naturally it means so much to them when their children find friends, often for the first time and a new-found confidence from being in the performance programmes. They definitely don’t want that to stop.”
Those wishing to bid for items to support this auction should go to Trade Me and search on StarJam.
Another fundraiser, an exclusive lunch with Sir Graham Henry and Simon Dallow on Friday 13th April is a sold out event.
With no government funding, StarJam relies entirely on grants and donations.
