Hospice West Auckland is looking for treasure
Hospice West Auckland is looking for
treasure.
China tea cups, lovely plates, silver vases, jewellery, crystal, even paintings or jewellery –Hospice is looking for lovely things which are no longer needed or wanted for a special sale.
The high quality items will be sold in an upmarket shop at the Hospice Putting on the Ritz function on 12 May.
“Maybe it is a special family heirloom which no-one in the family wants or has room for or just does not know what to do with their treasured piece – whatever it is, we would like to use it to raise funds for Hospice” says Barbara Williams, Chief Executive of Hospice West Auckland.
Hospice is currently building a two bed specialised care unit in the existing Hospice Beach Road premises in Te Atatu Peninsula.
“This will make life much easier for people as our patients who need more than home care as they currently have to be admitted to either North Shore Hospice or Hibiscus Hospice which is not always an ideal solution for West Auckland patients and their families” Ms Williams said.
Ms Williams said that she wants people to know that when they give their treasured pieces to Hospice, those items will be respected and priced to reflect their value.
“If people give us these items, we can ensure that they are sold for a reasonable amount which really helps the Hospice with funding”, she said.
Hospice West Auckland will personally come and collect the items from the person who donates them. They will then be carefully wrapped and stored ready for the Ritz event.
If you would like to donate a piece from your china cabinet or even from the back of your wardrobe, please call 09 8349752 or email fundraising@hwa.org.nz.
