Pruning workshop — shear and share alike
Pruning workshop — shear and share alike
15 April
2013
Sharp techniques for pruning will be shared at a free public workshop at Hollard Gardens, Kaponga, on Sunday (21 April).
Participants will learn why pruning’s much more than a cut-and-run exercise and how they can plan their garden surgery to achieve the results they want.
People with pruning challenges in their home garden can email pictures in advance to regional.gardens@trc.govt.nz, so possible solutions can be discussed during the workshop.
The workshop will cover pruning for form, plant health and aesthetics, including examples and demonstrations on deciduous and evergreen plants.
A particular focus will be the pruning of roses and hydrangeas in readiness for winter pruning tasks later in the season.
The two-hour
workshop will begin at 2pm on Sunday 21 April. It is part of
a year-round programme of free workshops and other events at
Hollard Gardens, Pukeiti and Tupare, the three heritage
properties owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional
Council on behalf of the people of the
region.
