Last chance to have your say on the Three Year Plan

Last chance to have your say on the Three Year Plan

It’s your last chance to have a say on the Council’s draft Christchurch City Three Year Plan.

The draft plan is a proposal setting out everything the Council plans to do over the next three years, how much these services and projects will cost, and where the money will come from.

Public consultation on the draft plan closes at 5pm this Friday, 19 April. Hearings will be held during 13-15 and 17-21 May 2013.

The plans being made will touch the lives of everyone in this city and councillors want to know what residents think, says Deputy Mayor Ngaire Button.

“This is your chance to tell the Council what you think and to make a difference to your city, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.”

We’ve had 374 people attend information sessions – including three open days and eight community drop-in events – to find out more about the plan and ask our staff questions.

So far, we’ve received 112 submissions from individuals and groups. Topics attracting submissions include the proposed cycle network and the Council’s financial strategy.

Submissions will be considered and debated by the Council, and any changes deemed necessary by councillors will be made before the final plan is adopted at the end of June.

“I encourage residents to take the time to make a submission. This city belongs to all of us and it is important we all have a say on our future,” says Mrs Button.

A summary of the draft plan, including a submission form, was sent to Christchurch households. You can also see a copy of the draft plan and make a submission through www.ccc.govt.nz/haveyoursay
