Free mobility scooters at Manawatu Garden and Lifestyle Festival
The 2013 Manawatu Garden and Lifestyle Festival
will be supported by Horizons Regional Council by providing
free mobility scooters for those unable to walk around the
event through the company A1 Wheelchair Services.
This
is the fifth year that Horizons has provided wheelchairs and
scooters to the Manawatu Garden & Lifestyle Festival and
this year six scooters will be provided.
The service
proved popular at the Field Days in March this year where
Horizons provided mobility scooters for those unable to walk
around the event. In total 80 people made use of the
scooters and wheelchairs.
Those who used the service at
the Field Days gave wonderful feedback with the most common
comment being “If it wasn’t for the free scooters I
would not have been able to come”.
Although scooter usage is not expected to be as high as the Field Days it is preferred that bookings are made early by contacting Horizons Total Mobility coordinator Valda Patton on toll free number 0508 800 800
The Manawatu Garden and Lifestyle Festival is set to commence on Saturday and Sunday the 4th and 5th of May at Manfeild in Feilding. The event starts at 9am and finishes 4pm both days.
Thank you to Brent Lane and Judy Wallace of A1Wheelchair Services who have made this service possible.
