Bealey Avenue is one lane eastbound at the Colombo St intersection for both weeks of the school holidays. Salisbury Street is an alternative route to the east.

Moorhouse
update – one-laning alongside Colombo overbridge –

Moorhouse Avenue drivers will face delays around the Colombo Street overbridge this week and next week at least due to one laning of the westbound route. Brougham Street or St Asaph Street are alternative routes west.

Montreal Street one-laning – from the river to Cranmer Square begins at the end of this week. The first week of this work is mostly the second week of the school holidays, a quieter time for traffic. After that, people will need to have alternative routes in mind. Hills Road,
Richmond
Hills Road is one way northbound currently from North Avon Road to Huggins Place to the end of May. Southbound traffic will be detoured along Dudley Street to Slater Street. Barbadoes Street, Madras Street as far as Bealey Avenue, Manchester Street to the northern edge of town are alternate routes south.

Road
closure St Martins after Anzac Day
A section of St Martins Road, between Koromiko Street and Centaurus Road will be closed this weekend. Because it is a strategic route, this road cannot be closed during normal working hours. Buxton Terrace, from the St Martins Road intersection to Kowhai Terrace, has been closed in recent days and will be closed again. The St Martins Road closure will start Friday, 26 April 2013, at 6 pm with work running right through to 7 am Monday 29 April 2013. The detour route is along Centaurus Road to Wilsons Road and Gamblins Road.

Merivale
Mall –use Aikmans Road access
SCIRT reminds drivers heading towards Merivale Mall to pick Aikmans Road not Office Road for the next two weeks. Aikmans Road is the more northern side road into the mall, closer to McDonalds and Heaton Street. Office Road is closer to St Albans Street.
Birmingham Drive, Middleton
– the change to the roundabout will take place Friday 26
April now, not this week as originally anticipated. Traffic
will continue to flow eastwards on Birmingham Drive, drivers
will not be able to access the streets off Birmingham from
the Wrights Road roundabout. Businesses will be kept
informed. The electronic sign board on Wrights Road will
update drivers.
Princess St/ Matipo St,
Middleton – intersection closed for another three
weeks. Part of larger Birmingham Driver Pressure Main 105
work.
Opawa Road
Opawa Road is one way north only Cholmondeley Avenue to Ensors Road this week. This work had been planned for last week but was delayed by bad weather.
