Crown Range Stabilisation Works

Crown Range Stabilisation Works

Crown Range Road users are being advised to leave a little earlier with short delays likely due to stabilisation work.

Improvements are being made to the stability of the land beside four sections of the road between Eastbourne Road and the Cardrona Hotel, with the road reduced to one lane in places. Traffic lights have been installed and while delays at each site will be short, motorists are being advised to factor extra travel time into their journeys.

Queenstown Lakes District Council general manager infrastructure Erik Barnes said every effort was being made to minimise disruption to road users.

“Our contractors are very aware of the need to keep traffic flowing and they will be making sure that the delays are kept to a minimum while this vital safety work is being undertaken,” he said.

“In the meantime, people should add an extra ten minutes to their travel time to be on the safe side.”

The work is underway now and is scheduled to end in mid-June.
