SCIRT weekend traffic update, Friday 10 May, 2013

SCIRT weekend traffic update, Friday 10 May, 2013 – two openings, one closure

Bealey Avenue, Colombo Street intersection
This segment of Bealey Avenue has been one lane only eastbound for almost three weeks now for SCIRT wastewater pipe work. Today it is going back to two lanes and a third lane will open up once plant is safely shifted.

Buckleys Road, past Eastgate Shopping Centre
Buckleys Road, past Eastgate Shopping Centre up to Bromley Park/ Butterfield Avenue, should be back to normal traffic flow by late Saturday afternoon (11 May).
SCIRT delivery team Downer has completed the major pipe laying project Pressure Main 11 along this main arterial route. The footpath and roadway next to Eastgate will begin to be restored when traffic flows abate this evening after 7 pm.
Pressure testing along the 3.6 kilometre length of this pipe may result in short term traffic disruptions in coming weeks. SCIRT thanks all road users and Eastgate area residents and shoppers for their patience for many months.

Seaview Road, New Brighton, traffic closure from Monday 13 May
New Brighton’s main road from the Pages Road roundabout Seaview Road will be closed to traffic from Monday 13 May to late June. SCIRT delivery team Fulton Hogan is installing a new pressure main wastewater pipe and lateral pipes to households and businesses in this area.
