Councillors complete Three Year Plan hearings
Councillors have listened to
the views of 124 organisations and individuals during three
days of public hearings on the draft Three Year Plan
(TYP).
Mayor Bob Parker said it was great example of democracy in action, with the full Council listening carefully to all the presentations as they reflect the passions and concerns of the community.
“The submissions
reflect the strong interest the community has in how
Christchurch is rebuilt and particularly how we prioritise
and pay for it. Everyone in our community is under pressure
around costs, it’s a universal issue.”
All
submissions will be considered and debated by the Council,
and any changes thought necessary by councillors will be
made before the final plan is adopted at the end of
June.

Copies of the submissions made at
the hearings are available here (see agendas for May
13-15)
