SCIRT traffic update for next week - from 24 June

Within and on the Four Avenues
Fitzgerald Ave, Ferry Road end, both sides of the road, lanes removed for two months –two lanes out of action on the northbound side, just north of Ferry Road and across the St Asaph Street intersection. On the southbound route, Tuam to St Asaph, one lane will be unavailable. Expect delays, particularly northbound.

Whitmore Street/ Fitzgerald and Bealey Aves – plan for delays later in the week. Lane restrictions from Whitmore St (the south end of Hills Road) onto Fitzgerald Ave for three weeks. Bealey Ave eastbound just one lane right onto Fitzgerald. Barbadoes St and Stanmore Road are alternatives south.

Montreal St from Tuam St intersection, ie south of the river – one lane up to Cranmer Square until the end of July. Take a different route north at peak hours if you can.

Montreal St and Armagh intersection, south end of Cranmer Square - one-lane up to and around Cranmer Square. Work on a manhole at this intersection means there will be no left hand turn onto Armagh St for a month. Traffic diverted around Cranmer Square, down Park Terrace.

Park Terrace one way – Kilmore to Peterborough – northbound traffic only, towards Bealey Ave. Southbound detour along Salisbury, down Durham and onto Kilmore. This wastewater gravity pipe and lateral pipe replacements (to properties) will take until early September, from Salisbury St to Armagh St.

Durham and Victoria St drivers expect delays – Durham St may be one lane south of Kilmore for the first part of the week.

Kilmore St to Park Terrace – expect delays from Montreal St/ Cranmer Square to Park Terrace while this route is being used as a detour.

Outside the Four Avenues
Shirley: Hills Road, Warden St to Edgeware Road - wastewater pipe work along the middle of the road will slow traffic and remove parking.

St Martins: Beckford Road - closed at the Wilsons Road intersection to the end of July.

Aldwins and Buckleys Roads, Linwood – testing of the new pressure main pipe through this route will create short term traffic disruptions. Be alert for changes to traffic management.

SCIRT thanks everyone for their patience while we are rebuilding the city’s damaged infrastructure. For detailed information, put the street name in the search box on the SCIRT web and read the latest works notice. www.strongerchristchurch.govt.nz
