Award winning hospitality at
Himatangi Beach Holiday Park
Exceptional service has earned Himatangi Beach Holiday Park owners the 2013 AA Spirit of Hospitality Award for Excellence in Holiday Parks.
Owners Margaret and Dennis Penney received the award at the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand (HAPNZ) Conference in Masterton last night.
AA Tourism chief executive Moira Penman presented the award and said the Himatangi Beach Holiday Park stood out because of the strong bonds the Penneys formed with their guests which resulted in a large volume of top scoring ratings in the online Been There traveller reviews on the AA’s website.
“I was especially impressed with the reviews recalling Margaret’s ability to meet a guest and then consistently greet them by name for the duration of their stay,” Ms Penman says.
“Staying at a holiday park or camping ground is a Kiwi tradition and an experience that often leaves lifelong memories. Dennis and Margaret’s ability to make their guests feel at home, while providing activities to entertain families during their stay leaves a lasting impression on their visitors.
“It is terrific to read such positive traveller reviews and know that there are so many Holiday Park hosts providing excellent hospitality.
“I would also like to extend my congratulations to the six other finalists, all of which are rated highly by their guests.”
The other finalists are the All Seasons Holiday Park in Rotorua, Opunake Beach Kiwi Holiday Park, Martinborough TOP 10 Holiday Park, Cosy Corner Holiday Park, Bowentown Beach Holiday Park and Miranda Holiday Park.
Providing great hospitality doesn’t cost a thing, but it can create repeat customers and provide positive recommendations to family and friends.
“Travellers are continuously reviewing accommodation online, so it is important that operators provide a high level of customer service,” says Ms Penman.
Himatangi Beach Holiday Park is in Manawatu, 130 kilometres north of Wellington and 40 kilometres west of Palmerston North.
