Creative Communities funding now open

The next round of the Creative Communities Palmerston North Scheme is now open for applications. The scheme is for arts groups and individuals seeking funding for arts related projects.

“Each round sees a wide variety of projects applying,” Council project coordinator Adrian Turner said. “Successful projects in the last year including painting exhibitions, public murals, arts festivals and film workshops.”

“Anyone involved in planning a community arts project should consider applying,” Adrian said. “Whether you need $500 to promote your amateur theatre production, $2,000 for an exhibition of paintings or $5,000 to stage a community concert, this funding could help realise your vision.”

The Funding Scheme aims to support and encourage local people to create opportunities for the community to participate in arts related activities. Applications can be made for amounts of up to $5000 and is administered by the Palmerston North City Council.

Applications are available at pncc.govt.nz, by ringing 356 8199 or by visiting a branch of the City Library or Council’s Customer Service Centre, Squareside. Applications close on Monday 19th August at 4pm.
