Council Provides Tamahere Residents with Updated Stormater Drainage Information

The results of an updated stormwater drainage study are being sent to the owners of around 950 Tamahere properties by Waikato District Council.

The updated information, which has been completed as part of the Tamahere Structure Plan review, provides details on the effects of a one-in-100 year extreme rainfall event. It can be used by property owners during development and will assist Council’s planning for future infrastructure investments.

Waikato District Council Service Delivery General Manager, Tim Harty says Tamahere’s history of growth was behind Council’s decision to get new data, ensuring current and future property owners as well as Council have the most accurate data available.

“Providing access to this updated information gives property owners greater confidence about the potential effects of severe rainfall on their property and allows them to make an informed decision about future development.”
