Quest in Wellington returns to normal trade after earthquakes
Quest Serviced Apartments has continued to trade steadily with little fall-off in business following the earthquake that shook Wellington on Sunday evening.
Room occupancy across Quest’s six
Wellington properties was 80% over the weekend and on the
night of the earthquake. Three days on and Quest reports
strong occupancy across its six Wellington properties,
indicating guests feel confident and safe enough to follow
through with planned trips to the capital.
Quest Serviced Apartments New Zealand CEO Stephen Mansfield says most of the apartments have come off lightly and the buildings have been deemed safe. “Engineers have assessed the Quest apartment complexes and are confident the buildings are structurally sound and escaped with only superficial damage in the earthquake,” says Mansfield.
“All our guests and staff were evacuated safely with no reports of injuries. Some of the apartments have sustained minor or cosmetic damage such as gib wall linings falling in and toppled furniture and televisions. We are working with our managers and staff to fix this damage as quickly as possible to ensure guests have a comfortable stay.
“We understand people might be frightened or upset but we hope it hasn’t put them off coming to Wellington. All of our properties are open so it is business as usual.”
Quest has 250 apartments across its six Wellington properties.
