Launch of Growing Dunedin’s Economy Website

Launch of Growing Dunedin’s Economy Website

Dunedin (Thursday, 25 July 2013)There is a great new way for business people to keep up and keep in touch.

The Growing Dunedin’s Economy website is an initiative which has come from Dunedin’s Economic Development Strategy. The website invites businesses to connect with the vision to make Dunedin one of the world’s great small cities.
Strategy Steering Group Chair Chris Staynes says the website will encourage local business camaraderie and provide project updates. This website updates an earlier economic development website.

“If we are to achieve our vision, we need our business community to take a real interest in the projects and initiatives identified in the Economic Development Strategy. The launch of this website creates a platform which will allow all businesses not only to keep up to date with the projects, but also to contribute to their success."

The website, www.dunedineconomy.co.nz, will be launched this evening at an Otago Chamber of Commerce Business after 5 event at the Sargood Centre, Logan Park.

The site is supported by the Strategy partners - Ngāi Tahu, the Otago Southland Employers Association, the Otago Chamber of Commerce, the University of Otago, the Otago Polytechnic and the Dunedin City Council.

Mr Staynes will introduce the website to the business community this evening. People will be encouraged to check the website for updates on various projects, connect to a growing online community of interested business people and Dunedin supporters on Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter, and attend numerous business networking events available in the city.
